3/10/2024 0 Comments Ecu tune meaningIf it's his "stage 2" then the buyer needs to have what you needed to have (whatever that was, and the correct turbo/injectors). If you have a ECU that has been box tuned (meaning the generic, mail out, ask for "stage", get back, plug in "out of the box") then it should work in the buyer's vehicle after being added, the programming won't change. Sorry I didn't mention this to you before Drizzy, got caught up in my car's issues again :roll.Ĭlick to expand.Did I miss that he has that handheld PPC that JZW offers? I got the impression that he had a plain old box tune with all the "ECU swapping" speak.Īnways, Drizzy, you gotta come back and tell us what you have. emails kinda messed with the readability of our early morning writing and I didn't want to bother attempting to clarify it a second time. I'm pretty sure that is possible from when I gathered (hey, I was thinking of buying yours), but a mixture of Monday 5 a.m. If you ask him again… ask if you can reprogram the handheld tuner for someone else's car and that your car got totaled (lo,l I dunno). I asked JZW but I think he misunderstood me thinking I was asking if I could just use a handheld for my car programmed for somebody else's VIN/car, by doing nothing else except plug and play (which could potentially be a massive mistake now that I think of it). OMG I'm cheap, jk) with any car, and then there are those that are trying to save a few bucks by buying a used handheld tuner from a car that is getting parted out/totaled. I believe things are getting lost in miscommunication because there are those children (jk!) that want to use a handheld tuner (without paying to upload a new tune. What am I missing or where am I lost here.? Friends of mine have swapped tuned ECUs with no problems. I could see things going awry if it was a road tuned car that needed messing with like mine, but not a mail-in tune (which again, is what I assume you're talking about). I'd think if the buyer is running the same turbo/injectors it would match up. As far as the programming from JZW (which I have no input or experience with), it seems like a standard box tune that requires exhaust/DP.that's what I can get from the website anyhow. I wouldn't think adding the ECU would change any of the programming. If the ECU itself is reprogrammed externally (if the JZW tuning was mail-in), I would imagine the programming should carry with the unit. I added a used ECU before my tune, I don't see why this is any different, even with a tune. Not sure why the VIN matters as you're adding the ECU to the VIN after being granted SA. I'm having a hard time understanding why this wouldn't work just transferring the ECU and adding with T2.
